BJHH: 121. - Season Preview/Offseason Review
After a dormant offseason—for both the boys and the Blue Jays alike—Nick and Stoeten return to look back on an underwhelming winter, an interesting spring, and ahead to the 2024 season.
Sorry for spamming your inboxes today everybody, but it’s a big week around here (uh… finally). Not only is the 2024 Toronto Blue Jays season about to get underway, but for those who missed it in my spring wrap-up post—which I conveniently titled Spring wrap-up!—Nick and I are getting the band back together. Which is to say: Blue Jays Happy Hour is back for another season of talkin’ ball, and our first episode is up and ready for your listening enjoyment.
In our triumphant return after a dormant offseason—for both the Jays and us alike—Nick and I take a look back on our favourite and least favourite transactions, discuss several spring training standouts, talk about what's expected of the Jays in a pivotal 2024 season, and more—including stuff on Ernie Clement, Justin Turner, Alejandro Kirk, Davis Schneider, Mitch White, Joey Votto, a brutal schedule, the darkest timeline, etc.
And this year we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be making the podcast in partnership with the Nation Network and Blue Jays Nation! Yes, that means that you’ll hear some ads on there—I think you’ll have no trouble noticing them—but it also means we’ll be able to do bigger and better things with the show, including moving from audio-only to full video sometime in the near future.
So have a listen, and be sure to follow Blue Jays Happy Hour on your podcast app of choice—Apple, Spotify, etc.—and if you could rate and review the show, that’d be great too. It really does help.
