🎧BJHH: 131 - Vlad at Third? Based
Ross Atkins says he does not think trading Guerrero or Bichette makes sense, but he thinks having Vlad play some third base does. Welcome to desperation season.
Do the Blue Jays have a new third baseman? Because they certainly have reached a new level of desperation, handing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. a start at the hot corner over the weekend for the first time since 2019—primarily as a way to get Dan Vogelbach's bat into the lineup.
Grim stuff! And yet, in this week's episode, Nick and Stoeten basically approve of the scheme, and all but talk themselves into wanting to see more of it.
Plus: Thoughts on the Jays' recent 8-5 run through a soft portion of their schedule, Ross Atkins' comments on MLB Network Radio this week, the future of Bo and Vlad, fresh pitching woes, the latest missive from Drew Fairservice, the real City Connect uniforms, and a whole lot more!
