🎧BJHH: 132 - Under the Knife
Manoah needs surgery, Biggio's been cut, and the Jays can't stop playing every single game on a knife's edge. Welcome to MLB in 2024.
Alek Manoah's brief and spectacular resurgence will end quietly in surgery this week. Meanwhile the Jays have cut bait on Cavan Biggio, and though their playoff chances are have nominally increased since the last time we talked, it continues to feel as though a sword is dangling over their necks.
Last week's split with the Orioles felt big, but a limp offensive performance on Monday in Milwaukee brought reality crashing back in harder than Yusei Kikuchi on Tyler Soderstrom. Yet all is not lost, thanks largely to a weak crop of fellow “contenders” for the third AL Wild Card and the random chaos that defines the MLB playoffs. And in this week's episode, Nick and Stoeten talk about all of the above, plus Spencer Horwitz at second base, a Vlad Jr. trade “rumour,” and a whole lot more!
