🎧BJHH: 142 - A New Hope📺
The Blue Jays have been a whole lot more watchable lately. (Or at least they were until the offence sputtered in the last couple of games.)
The Blue Jays have been MLB's sixth-best team by wRC+ in August—or at least they were when we recorded this episode on Wednesday.
At the time they were tied for seventh in home runs, and if you counted the four runs they scored when completing their June 26th game against the Red Sox on Monday they'd rank ninth. Now? Well, do you want to hear the terrifying truth, or do you want to listen to—or watch!—this week’s podcast?
OK, how about both? The Jays are still in the top 10 by wRC+ and home runs this month, but have dropped to 14th by runs scored (12th if you count the ones from the resumed game). And you can find the podcast—in which Nick and I talk about all of this plus Bo Bichette’s imminent return, Joey Votto's departure, and a whole lot more—below.
Plus, in the video edition, we had a visit from a very special guest (an incredibly annoying fly that would not stop buzzing around my head for the last 10 minutes of the show, which I had to pretend didn’t exist because the whole thing was on video).
So have a listen by finding Blue Jays Happy Hour on your podcast app of choice—Apple, Spotify, etc.—or a watch, either via the YouTube channel for Blue Jays Nation, or by clicking below. And be sure to like, subscribe, rate, review, ling, wrang, dorp, glick, sporf, etc.
