🎧BJHH: 173 - 500 Up
Sliding downwards, you’re the batter / that’s what they say / 500 up / on the ladder...
Your paid support makes independent, thoughtful, grass-fed, naturally raised, free-range coverage of Toronto Blue Jays baseball possible. Thank you.
The Blue Jays are not a team without problems, as we’ve been seeing all season long so far. But after (eventually) picking up a much-needed and well-deserved sweep of the San Diego Padres on Thursday—and potentially having found solutions to some measure of their run-scoring problems in Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes, and a Daulton Varsho suddenly leaning into his power—they now find themselves over .500 for the first time in more than a month. And, just like that, things feel about as good as they have all season.
We talk about all of it this week! PLUS: The return of Gausmania? The end of Hoffmania? Bassitt, Buffalo, bullpenning, and more!
So have a listen below, or by finding Blue Jays Happy Hour on your podcast app of choice—Apple, Spotify, etc.—and be sure to like, subscribe, rate, review, etc.
AND! If you’re a paid subscriber to the site here, and you’re not so into listening to podcasts, you can check out a transcript of the episode at the bottom of this post.*
*(An unedited transcript that is, which… if you check it out I think you’ll immediately see exactly why I’m choosing not to deal with cleaning up that mess. But I think it’s legible enough that you’ll get the gist, should for some reason you want it.)
