🎧BJHH: 175 - Remembering Some Guys
This week we remember the best versions of Bo, Kirk, and Springer—easy to do, since we've seen them a lot lately—and riff on a recent take on the Jays' all-quarter-century team, and a whole lot more!!
Your paid support makes independent, thoughtful, grass-fed, naturally raised, free-range coverage of Toronto Blue Jays baseball possible. Thank you.
It's been a good week for the Blue Jays, with some actually encouraging signs showing up in their offence. Addison Barger might be for real, Alan Roden and Davis Schneider are back after successful spells in Triple-A, but more important is the fact that lately we’ve been seeing the best of guys like Bo Bichette, Alejandro Kirk, and George Springer—some of the very guys the team had futilely pinned their hopes for “internal improvement” on over the last two or three years.
In this episode we look at a Jays lineup that feels deeper than it has for a while—and could maybe even be pretty good once Anthony Santander and Daulton Varsho get healthy. Plus, we go over some of the club's recent roster shuffling and injury woes, check in on the state of the rotation, the bullpen, and some prospects, and take a long look through the Athletic’s recent take on the Blue Jays All-Quarter-Century Team.

*(An unedited transcript that is, which… if you check it out I think you’ll immediately see exactly why I’m choosing not to deal with cleaning up that mess. But I think it’s legible enough that you’ll get the gist, should for some reason you want it.)
