🎧BJHH: 176 - Improving Internally

How good have Kirk and Clement been? How good can Robertson and Turnbull be? And will the Jays be able to keep rolling until reinforcements—like Scherzer, Santander, Varsho, and García—get healthy?

After what’s seemed like years of waiting for their offence to arrive, over the last month or so the Blue Jays seem to have figured out how to hit and score runs. They’re flying high, playing like one of the best teams in baseball despite a rotation in shambles beyond the front three.

Can it last?

This week, after a quasi-traditional vibe check, we take a look at how internal improvements have powered this incredible offensive outburst—Alejandro Kirk, George Springer, Ernie Clement—and where improvements still need to be made in order to fix the pitching staff and weather the storms that surely lie ahead.

So have a listen by finding Blue Jays Happy Hour on your podcast app of choice—Apple, Spotify, etc.—and be sure to like, subscribe, rate, review, etc.

AND! If you’re a paid subscriber to the site here, and you’re not so into listening to podcasts, you can check out a transcript of the episode at the bottom of this post.*

[NOTE: SPOTIFY IS DOWN AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING. I’LL PUT THE PLAYER HERE ONCE IT IS WORKING AGAIN.]

*(An unedited transcript that is, which… if you check it out I think you’ll immediately see exactly why I’m choosing not to deal with cleaning up that mess. But I think it’s legible enough that you’ll get the gist, should for some reason you want it.)
