Blue Jays Happy Hour - Ep. 27: Trade Deadline Preview
Just a quick one to give you the details about Sunday's podcast, where you can listen if you missed it live, and when to hear us on deadline day!
The Blue Jays avoided splitting a series with the lowly Tigers, taking three of four behind a strong José Berríos performance (except when his brother-in-law was up!) in Sunday’s finale, and more heroics from Matt Chapman. With that, and with the Jays off on Monday, the focus now turns to Tuesday’s trade deadline — which we talked about extensively in this one, going through MLBTR’s list of the best trade candidates and assessing the fit and likelihood that the Jays might land them.
Tyler Mahle, come on down! (We promise we’ll learn to pronounce your name correctly once the Jays actually acquire you.) (Update: Unless you don’t get vaccinated — which is totally something we forgot you weren’t as of the Reds’ earlier trip to Toronto. GAH!)
All that plus Castillo, Montas, Vlad, Springer’s elbow, extending Ross Stripling, and more!
Be sure to get the Callin app and follow us on there so you can tune in live when we’re back at it next: Tuesday at 6:30 PM ET!!
That’s right, we’ll be coming at you just after the deadline passes at six o’clock on Tuesday to address all the big moves of the day — including, one assumes, at least a couple or more from the Blue Jays.
And for those that couldn’t catch us live during Sunday’s episode, as always you can listen to the show on the podcast app of your choice! Including…

Looking forward to the listen! I really hope we don't go for Montas. When it comes to shoulders, any problem is a potential bigger problem. I'm thinking they don't need to aim for the sky when it comes to starters...any depth starter(s) will do. The players seem pretty pumped and expectant about getting new additions. No pressure Ross.
