Blue Jays Happy Hour - Ep. 39: New rule!
Just a quick one to give you the details about Sunday's podcast, and where you can listen if you missed it live!
New rule! If I’m going to riff on a comedian’s bit… shouldn’t it be one that’s sometimes actually funny?? Bun-dun bun-nun-nun unh-dun bun-nun-nun uhn-dun bun-nun-nun nun-nun-nun-nun…
As I write this the Blue Jays have won their first two games in Texas and continue the process of burying the Baltimore Orioles and solidifying their place in the wild card picture with now less than a month to go before the playoffs begin. But amid the drama in the standings, there is drama brewing between the commissioner’s office and the clubhouse.
This week MLB announced a series of new rules to be implemented for next season — a pitch clock, limits to the number of pickoff throws a pitcher can make, banning infielders from shifting to the other side of second base, and larger bases — that have many players and fans up in arms.
So, in addition to discussions of Bo Bichette’s incredible streak, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Cavan Biggio, Kevin Gausman, Ross Stripling, José Berríos, and more, on this edition of Blue Jays Happy Hour we went in depth on what’s changing, what and who it will affect, players’ reactions, our though, *your* thoughts, and more. Have a listen!
