Because one bad season does not make someone obviously incompetent and the people who think otherwise can't see past the steam coming out of their ears. Plus, it's fun to watch people wig out because they so badly need their incoherent anger validated.
If it was just one season, I would agree with you. The team has steadily declined over the past 3 years and Atkins played a major role in that. That’s a fact, not a product of “incoherent anger”.
