In our last episode before the trade deadline we catch up on some of the latest rumours, plus Trent Thornton, Génesis Cabrera, Jay Jackson, Alek Manoah, Shohei Ohtani, 2009, vibes, and so much more.
Hope I'm not overstepping by posting this here, but since we're talking podcasts, a few(?) years ago you said on a podcast (might have been the old one) that the BaseballSavant slider graphic for player percentile rankings is dumb and they should use player radars like in soccer. I had been thinking the same and told myself if I ever got around to learning to code, I would definitely someday do some data visualization stuff. Fortunately(?!), lock-downs happened and I kinda did and well here it sorta is:
Also, setting up a server is a whole other thing which I guess I need to learn more about. Which is to say, the site is a bit glitchy and a tad slow. Don't worry, I'll definitely someday get around to making it better even though the data viz stuff is actually pretty fun and might distract me. Fun? Like a visualization for woba, wrc, etc? Yes, that's much more fun than getting client-side routing to play nice with page reloads or linking.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the 'inspiration'!

Oh wow, that’s awesome!
Thanks!!
If you get a chance, try "Select Stats", the "Obs vs Exp" preset (make sure to save) and put up Ohtani's batting stats. Ridiculous.
