Just to torture ourselves, let’s say higher Blue Jays payroll is entirely dependent on whether lil’ Eddie gets to sit in papa’s chair. Which would you prefer:
(a) he gets a corner office at Rogers and becomes a meddlesome baseball owner, or
(b) he’s kept out of the building, and the Jays turn into the Guardians.
I don’t think it is. Anyone who can play shortstop should be able to make the switch to either corner outfield spot fairly easily and the faster ones can play centre — which appeared like it might have been the path for Austin Martin before he was traded.
Except we then have Lourdes Gurriel Jr -- whose speed is fine but not great, and whose throwing arm is great, but (to my eye, at any rate) still doesn't know how to run down a fly ball. Maybe this is harder than we thought it was? And if it is a matter of positioning, maybe it is on the coaching staff?

There seems to be a major lack of outfield prospects. Is that a problem? Feels like a concern.

Well then, I'm no longer concerned. Thx
