A look back on three games against the Orioles, plus a look ahead to this weekend's big series with the A's, roster moves, scoreboard watching, Atkins speaks!, and more!
There are a few cautionary tales in the not-too-distant past where the Blue Jays signed big deals for pitchers who'd had big seasons that didn't go so well. Much as I like Ray I think considering paying him huge money on an extended contract is a good time to pump the brakes. There is a huge class of 2022 free agent starting pitchers that may yield someone that brings a better dynamic to the Jays starting rotation. I know, hard to imagine given Ray's season, but the Jays rotation has a bunch of grinders and Ray is no different. I know it's passé in today's strikeout heavy game but we could use a ground ball inducing pitcher that can give us quick innings on a low pitch count.

I hope we can resign Ray. I mean, he's only 4 years older than Nate Pearson, isn't he?
Nate just turned 25 and Ray turns 30 in October, so more like five, but still pretty interesting when you think of it that way.
