I don't know if this is the right place for this comment, but.

Obviously this is a tough way to make a living. So if I have to pay for a subscription *and* look at ads, then I'll just take that hit; glad to help.

But the best thing I can say about sports betting ads is that I'd rather see them than ads for NFTs or Doug Ford.

You have to do what you have to do. I hope you don't have to have the sports betting ads.

That's fair man. I totally get that. At this stage I kinda do need to have the ads, but I'm working at making them a lot less intrusive than whatever that was. But I've got obligations to the folks I'm working with, so some days they may stick out a bit. I also need to eat! Not sure if there's a way Substack will let me turn those sections off for paid subscribers, but it's something I can look into.

I think everything is made worse by the almost universal expectations that we were going to be one of the teams to beat this year. And we still might be! But we haven't been firing on all cylinders for a long time and have had a fair bit of bad luck in the last week. And really, it's only been just over a week that we've been losing. However, I do wonder if the Front Office laments not doing what it would have taken to get Jose Ramirez.

Don’t think they could have done anything — that was his decision.

As for expectations, probably does change the mood but they’re still 100% one of the teams to beat and should have always been viewed as such.
