That linear 1:1 assessment is often used and doesn't really reflect what baseball is truly like. Teams are a dynamic mix. Perhaps if we had more of an on-base player than Semien the HR basher we'd have had a better result. It is really hard to know these things.
Personally, I think the team is already a quantum leap better because we're starting the year with many significant players that weren't playing to start the season last year.
