On Matt Chapman's massive hitting struggles, firing the hitting coach, Davis Schneider, Orelvis Martinez, Addison Barger, laundry, Vlad, Tanner Bibee, playoff odds, Hyun Jin Ryu, and more!
I've figured out what's wrong with thus team. The hitting slump happened after they DFAed Bass. The players were not happy and this is their revenge. The union ix a strong one and the players on this team are united to get rid of Atkins and show their displeasure. They do not care about Toronto , that's why they are worse here.I would write them off this year and hope that all the bad eggs are gone next year.
Interesting theory but players want to get paid and they get paid less when they don’t perform, so doing anything remotely like this would cost them, as a group, probably tens of millions of dollars. It also doesn’t explain the guy who jave hit well, or how excited they clearly are when they win. They just… haven’t hit well so far this year. Sometimes the simplest explanation is best.
The Shapiro 'quote' is totally on the money - with a bit about being disappointed of course - but it does beg the question - is there going to be a fall guy? Has to be the batting coach(es) right? Even if they're not to blame for a putrid offence.
Matt Chapman had nothing to prove this year and he proved nothing. The bids are already in for his big contract. We should have traded him in July with Kevin Keirmayer and cavan biggie and maybe we could have gotten some solid hitting which we have lacked since may.I use my eye, not stats, maybe I'm wrong but clearly the stats are sometimes wrong too. They do not account fir the human element.
Ah, an easy win today. Now, to take a sip of coffee and check the Mariners box sco-

Great stray thoughts, and I AM going to eat Arby’s tonight!
University life.....getting a dozen jr. beef and cheese and storing the extras in the fridge for after-the-bar snacks...priceless!
Jeff, yours is a life well lived my friend
