It’s a good question. My guess is that it’s because he didn’t have much to do with the Canadian national program coming up (so far as I can tell). He played for Team Italy in the 2017 WBC. That stuff probably wouldn’t matter to fans, but there definitely aren’t as many eyes in the industry/media on those guys as there are ones who do play for the Junior Nationals. Though don’t quote me on saying he didn’t — I don’t know what his involvement with the program was. If he plays for Canada in the next one you’ll see the pom poms come out.
Agreeing with Rob here. As always your article lives up to the excitement I get when they pop in my inbox. Love that you quote and link other writers. Shows that you still are, and think of your subscribers as, a Drunken Jays Fan. (In reality I'm a Stoned Jays Fan but same vibe)
Also, I should add, thank you for noticing the quotes and links. It drives me nuts when other sites don’t do a simple thing like giving others credit and a link to their work.
Other Jays writers will occassionally drop a quote or an attribution. But you tell us to go check out a good read or quote another article to further make your point. It helps inform us as fans and I like it.
I am more than a little worried about the remaining schedule for us, the Yanks and Red Sox. There's not much room for error and I think it's going to be VERY tense the rest of the way. No slumps allowed Blue Jays!
I had time to kill 3 days ago and crunched the numbers on the remaining 5 AL wildcard competitors in order to gauge strength of schedule. Boston's did look the easiest. [Apologies I don't have time to update these - but three days ago this is what it looked like]:
In terms of combined run-differential of remaining opponents, it's a bit laughable because Boston plays the godawful Orioles (-257) six times.
Boston = -1,878
Jays = -342
Yankees = -198
Mariners = -125
A's = +177
Indeed, Boston only has 3 games remaining games against a team with a positive run diff/ (Yankees.) By that measure -- i.e. how many games remaining vs teams with a + run diff - they have the easiest schedule:
The one thing that’s good is that they do play each other, so one of them is going to get at least two losses out of that series. Otherwise, it’s gonna be dicey for sure!
Why isn't there a bit more fuss being made about the fact that Romano is from Toronto?

Hahaha thanks man!

For what it's worth. Just win, baby.

Nice job here
Thanks!
