I find the word 'bitter' an odd one to use from Shapiro. Strange context unless that was a subtle reference to the COVID related logistic nightmares they had to deal with that no-one else did.
I saw a brief clip of Ross Atkins talking about Ray/Semien and my take was that they are prepared for them to move on. As much of a loss as that is on the surface, I'm glad you talked about Semien because it may be that we captured lightning in a bottle with both players. I trust the Front Office's evaluation of players (ignoring Roark and some bullpen names) and I'm sure they've got plans on how to spend that money on other valuable replacements.
