It just doesn't make any sense for all the reasons you describe. This Front Office values people, culture and relationships as much as you can in what is essentially a cut-throat sport. Unless there were obvious reasons for him to go - which there aren't - there's no way they'd do an in-season replacement. And really, what's the pecking order for blame anyway? Player performance - Front Office - Manager? Wouldn't it be nice if there was an equivalent WAR statistic for managers...
