Im wonder if a Danny Jansen extension is in the works? Id think its more likely he gets one this winter than Bo or Vlad who seem destined to get to free agency. I think a deal with Jansen in the 3-4 year range would likely suit both parties.
Scott Mitchell shared a clip on Twitter earlier where Jansen did not seem optimistic. Danny was still in a cast though, so it was likely from Sept/Oct, and maybe things have changed since then.
Andrew - as a dedicated subscriber who has always very much appreciated your astute baseball commentary and analysis I must take issue with you at this fraught time in history. As a proud Jewish man I find your political tweets and retweets regarding the situation in Israel/Gaza and regarding issues surrounding it to smack of dilletantism, ignorance and even perhaps closet antisemitism. You do not have skin in this game my friend and it's not a fun game to be in. It's easy to be trendy and throw stones from the sidelines when that is the case. You show a deep understanding of baseball but unfortunately you do not show the same acuity for this incredibly painful part of my and my fellow Jews lives. I don't think this is the arena into which you should cast your hat.
I’m sorry you feel that way and I understand that this is a time of genuine fear for your community and I appreciate your thoughtful message, and the ones below. But since you follow me on Twitter you must know that I don’t do the stick to sports thing, and that there’s an easy way not to see my tweets if you don’t like them. I don’t think this site is the approprate place for a debate on this topic, but just to be extremely clear, my problem is with a far-right government that is a major Canadian ally, and who we export millions of dollars in weapons to every year. Certainly not a people, among whom there are millions that also think the carnage needs to stop.
I haven't seen the tweets you're talking about, but I'm also a proud Jewish man and a big Andrew Stoeten fan. I live around the corner from the Hebrew School that had a bomb threat yesterday. My mother spent her teens in Auschwitz. This is an uncomfortable time to be a Jew, even a totally secular one. But everyone seems to have an opinion about the war and feels the need to provide it. Yet, we really all don't know shit about the realities from here, in our cushy Canadian surroundings. I agree with William. We all want your opinions on the Jays and baseball but don't need foreign policy input. You have a right to speak your mind, and I understand the concerns about Gaza and the Palestinian people, but too many comments with too little insight already exist. Love ya man, but stick to baseball.
One hopes! Or maybe Kikuchi can sell him on it—though I have no idea if they have much of relationship beyond both being from a country of 125 million people.
It’s a great time of year to be a fan. Thanks for the write up! The Jays front office knows that doing little or nothing, would be a PR failure. I hope we’ll see one of the big fish head north. You gotta dream big!
Two things they can do to bring some feel good offseason vibes back: 1. Sign Votto (even if he only plays a few games before it's clear he's finished); but the kicker would be 2. Bring Gibby back as manager. I have nothing against John Schneider and who cares if it would make possibly no sense baseball wise. Fans, including me, love him.
Always love your writing, and always love you using your platform to stand up for what’s right, including now.

Stay strong brother. In the end we have no-one but each other.
Maybe Ohtani will like our 2 Michelin star Japanese restaurant or the 50 or 60 more Japanese restaurants across the city.

And with all those fancy new seats to sell, I think they really need to have some excitement to sell. Here’s hoping they can pull it off.
